COURSE INFORMATION

 

Our leisure course is suitable for all abilities and no previous experience or knowledge is required. If you have never picked up a hammer or a needle this is the one for you. Already have some experience? Come along and add valuable skills to your repertoire.

The courses are booked in five week blocks or limited single Saturday day classes, many of my students have been booking continuously for the past 6 years! If you wish to continue after your initial course you are more than welcome to do so and each consecutive block will build your knowledge.

The aim of the courses is to develop your creative skills and to discover the basic & further principles of traditional and/or modern upholstery. Class sizes are friendly and intimate. With a maximum of just 6/7 students, so you will have plenty of time with the tutor.

 

For all leisure courses you should bring along a small upholstered item as your first project, such as a dining chair, drop-in seat or footstool. Projects should be easily transportable as storage is not available at the studio. You will also most likely want to continue your project at home with your new found skills.

Larger pieces of furniture can be considered but will need to be discussed beforehand, as they will definitely take longer than five weeks or single day. Please be aware that fabric sometimes hides a lot, so your project may need more time and work than is initially visible.

 

 

MATERIALS & TOOLS

There are tools to use in the workshop in class time. We have tool kits & stuffing materials available to purchase, so you may work on your project in the workshop &  at home. You will choose and supply your own fabric.

 

COST

The 5 week block costs £200.00 per student & £125.00 per student for the day course, (as mentioned does not include fabric, trim, or materials etc).

Courses are payable in advance and your booking will be confirmed via email. More than one course may be booked at a time for larger or varied projects.

 

 

GIFT VOUCHERS  ARE AVAILABLE

 

E-vouchers may be purchased in 5 week blocks, a single day, or tailored to your requirements for part payment or longer projects. Tool kits can also be added to your gift purchase if you wish, if this is for a gift we can wrap & send to you or it can be presented to the recipient on their first session. Postage & packaging will incur a separate cost due to different potential weights of packages.
