Develop your creative skills in a rural studio setting with our 5 week courses.
COURSE INFORMATION
This is a leisure course, so there are no formal qualifications at the end of it.
The aim of all the courses is to develop students creative skills and to discover the basic & further principles of traditional & modern upholstery. Class sizes are maximum of 5 students.
For all courses you should bring along a small piece of upholstered work as your 1st project. Eg: dining chair, drop-in seat or footstool. Larger pieces of furniture will need to be discussed beforehand.
Please be aware that fabric sometimes hides a lot, so be prepared that your chair may need more work than you think.
Materials & Tools
Materials, projects & fabrics are not supplied, there are limited tools to use in the studio only. Unfortunately due to Covid I am unable to lend any other items such as pins as they are near on impossible to disinfect.
If you wish to buy your own tools the following list is a guide for your basic kit, however I do sell a starter kit, which consists of the following plus a webbing stretcher, curved needles & pins. Other items can be purchased too such as hessian, lining cloth, stuffings, tacks, threads etc.

- Scissors (you should bring your own fabric scissors not included in kit)
